Our goal was to maintain and bring out the lovely qualities of the existing house while clarifying the layout and adding detail. The stair was redesigned and opened up to bring more light to the center of the house. The second floor ceiling height was increased without changing the overall proportions of the house or making it too large for the lot or neighborhood. The entry stair was rebuilt to provide a more suitable entry.
