Riverview Residence
NEEDHAM, MA
Designed for a two-acre, sloping, wooded site on the Charles River, this residence looks out to forest on the river half of the property. Although in suburban Boston, the house was designed to fit in with the surrounding forest, so that its verticality would work with the trees. Several outdoor seating areas were added to take advantage of backyard, with the uppermost sitting under a roof with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen. The home’s stained cedar shingled exterior has many details associated with traditional Shingle-Style houses, while we designed its interiors to be a little more contemporary. The garage was designed to double as a basketball court.
